Putting New Gloves Into Service

The user has 12 months from the test date to put new gloves into service.New (gloves that have never been issued for use) may be retested and the user has 12 months from that date to put them into service

Retesting Rubber Insulating Gloves

There are two standards that prescribe test intervals:
•OSHA 1910.137 (Electrical Safety) - Must be electrically tested before first issue and every six months thereafter
•OSHA 1910.268 (Tele-Com) - Natural rubber insulating gloves must be electrically tested before first issue, twelve months after first issue and every 9 months thereafter
•Any unissued glove that has not been tested within twelve months must be retested before issue.

MALLORY 8-POINT TESTING PROCESS

Here's what to expect:

Your gloves are checked-in

Remove previous testing marking

Machine or hand wash gloves and dry upon arrival

4

Perform a visual inspection, checking for cracks and defects

5

Electrically test gloves with no visual defects using appropriate voltage and time for each Class

6

Gloves are dried and final inspection is performed

7

Gloves that pass the test are approved to return to service and are date stamped

8

All gloves are shipped back (both passed and failed) with a detailed test report
