DESCRIPTION

Scotch® Tape 23 is a 30 mil, premium grade, highly conformable, rubber splicing tape. The self fusing tape has a special polyester liner, which will not stick to the tape upon unwind. It withstands temperatures up to 194 °F (90 °C).

Scotch® Tape 23 is a 30 mil, premium grade, highly conformable, rubber splicing tape. The self fusing tape has a special polyester liner, which will not stick to the tape upon unwind. It withstands temperatures up to 194 °F (90 °C). Use Scotch® Rubber Splicing Tape 23 for low or high voltage applications and joints up to 69 kV. This thick, highly conformable, self-amalgamating EPR (Ethylene Propylene Rubber) based tape can be stretched up to 100% for void-free, moisture-resistant insulation. It’s non-vulcanising and shelf-stable with excellent electrical properties. Featuring a special polyester liner that will not stick when unwinding, this tape is ideal for moisture sealing electrical connections.

APPLICATIONS

For splicing cable from 600 V through 69000 V on all solid dielectric cables, building stress cones on cables up to 35000 V on all solid dielectric cables, jacketing on high voltage splices and terminations, moisture sealing electrical connections, bus bar insulations and end sealing high voltage cables

  • Physical and electrical properties are unaffected by the degree of stretch
  • A special polyester liner which will not stick to the tape upon unwind
  • Compatible with all solid dielectric cable insulation: polyethylene (high and low density), cross linked polyethylene (xlp), polyvinyl chloride (pace), butyl rubber, ethylene propylene rubber (pace), oil based rubber
  • Conformable, made with highly conformable ethylene rubber (epr)
  • Primary insulation use, used for primary insulation for cable splice and termination applications up to 69kv (astm d4388, type iii)
  • Easy to handle, unwinds without sticking due to the polyethylene liner
  • High heat use - operating temperature rated to 194 deg f (90 deg c) with an emergency overload rating to 266 deg f (130 deg c)
  • RoHS 2002/65/EC
  • HH-I-3825B
