We constructed 3M™ Trizact™ Finesse-it™ film disc 464LA with a revolutionary surface topography that channels sanding debris away from the disc, significantly reducing the chance of loading and extending the life of the disc. The 3-dimensional structures of 3M™ Trizact™ abrasives contain multiple layers of mineral. As these pyramid-like structures wear, fresh, sharp mineral is constantly exposed to the workpiece, resulting in faster, more consistent cutting. The secret behind the longer life and faster cut of our 3M™ Trizact™ Finesse-it™ film disc 464LA lies in the precise, microreplicated system of channels that move sanding debris away from the disc. This prevents debris from building up between the abrasive structures, allowing fresh mineral to be continually exposed to the workpiece. Unlike conventional abrasives, 3M™ Trizact™ abrasive starts sharp and stays sharp, resulting in more predictable finishes and improved, consistent quality. 3M™ Trizact™ abrasive discs can last up to five times longer than conventional discs and provide precise finish control. 3-dimensional structures uniformly distributed over the entire surface of Trizact™ abrasives ensure consistent performance and eliminate disc-to-disc variation. Our film discs are perfect for finishing, defect repair and leveling, when you're working on paint, clear coat and plastic defect removal. The precisely graded mineral helps reduce processing steps and produces a high gloss level. Very little water is needed, making the process easy and efficient. The extended life of the film disc, paired with its fast and consistent cut, make it the perfect aid for speedy repairs.
3M™ Finesse-it™ PSA Film Disc Roll 466LA is 3M’s original microreplicated film disc frequently imitated, this technology helps remove surface imperfections from clearcoats, all without changing the surface topography. 3M™ Finesse-it™ PSA Film Disc Roll 466LA engineered by incorporating silicon carbide mineral into a matrix of repeating microstructures, and the film backing minimizes the chance for surface abnormalities. The micro-structured silicon carbide mineral cuts sharply enough to quickly remove imperfections, but not so much so that you risk gouging or marring the surface. It is commonly used for defect repair on clear coats, paint and plastics, because it can effectively refine these surfaces without significantly gouging or damaging the workpiece. Available in three grades -- A3, A5 and A7, 3M™ Finesse-it™ PSA Film Disc Roll 466LA has been the clearcoat spot repair disc most used by automotive manufacturers worldwide. It can be used for both manual and automated processes.
