3M PELTOR ComTac™ Tactical Headset Solutions
PELTOR ComTac headsets provide effective intra-team communications without the use of an external radio series. They’ve been fielded in over 1,000,000 military and law enforcement operations worldwide. Mallory can bring them to you and your officers.
Key Features
- Each ComTac headset combines a physical earcup seal that blocks harmful noise with an electronic level-dependent circuit that compresses dangerous sound levels and delivers radio audio through the built-in speakers
- Designed to properly fit under tactical law enforcement helmets
- When used with earplugs underneath the earcups, the headsets boost volume by approximately 6dB to compensate for the additional attenuation
- Select models include NIB (Natural Interaction Behavior), 3M’s short-range wireless technology that lets NIB-enabled headsets connect automatically when team members are within a 5-10 meter radius
- Tested to military and other applicable standards
TMAS: A CABLE-FREE INTEGRATED SYSTEM
The 3M Peltor Tactical Modular Audio System (TMAS)
The Tactical Modular Audio System is the most advanced 3M PELTOR communication system. It brings the ComTac VII headset, the TEP-300 tactical earplug, and the SCU 300 System Control Unit together into a single wireless platform developed specifically for law enforcement and military applications.
The SCU-300 connects wirelessly to both the ComTac VII and the TEP-300 using near-field magnetic induction, handles up to three simultaneous radio connections, and lets the operator choose between three preset audio profiles — Mix, Single, and Surround — to control how radio audio is delivered across both ears.
Key Features
- Weapon-rail-mounted RCU-300 allows transmission and volume adjustment without removing the hand from the weapon
- Mission Audio Profiles (MAP) let operators tune environmental listening for five specific scenarios: overwatch, patrolling, conversation, comfort in sustained noise, and ambient listening off
- Natural Interaction Behavior (NIB) enables headset-to-headset communication for up to four simultaneous talkers within close proximity
- Accommodates both over-the-ear and in-ear configurations within the same system
