The results are a tightly collimated beam that cuts through thick smoke and illuminates objects up to a third of a mile (552m) away. Holding down the switch enables a battery-saving 600-lumen low mode, extending runtime to 11.5 hours when firefighters need bright, useful light for longer calls. Designed and engineered as both a hand-held lantern and portable area light, the 5582 features a rear-mounted rubber base pad for upright use on any flat surface, providing instant, adjustable scene lighting on demand. The wide, flat body and handle design provide firefighters a stable platform while crawling under smoke or following a hose line.
