3M™ Cubitron™ II Hookit™ Paper Disc 732U features 3M Precision Shaped Ceramic Grain, a revolutionary advancement in abrasive technology. The triangular shaped ceramic mineral is designed to slice through the substrate, rather than gouging or “plowing” like conventional abrasives, resulting in a disc that lasts up to 4x as long as conventional abrasives. Now available from grades 80+ through 1000+, these discs are designed for a wide array of substrates and applications, providing flexibility and versatility in use. The discs are effective for a broad range of tasks from stock removal to fine finishing on various substrates, including metals, paint coatings, composites, gelcoat, and different types of wood. The C-weight paper backing offers flexibility and is suitable for sanding applications where edge retention is not the main concern. For best results, pair with 3M Xtract™ Random Orbital Sanders. We offer a complete line of hook-and-loop style 3M™ Hookit™ sanding discs which conveniently attach to a hook-and-loop backup disc pad (sold separately), can be removed cleanly and easily, and can be re-used again and again for the extent of the abrasive life. For work spaces where adhesive backed discs may become contaminated by dust or dirt or where a 3M™ Stikit™ disc may be too aggressive, Hookit™ discs tend to leave finer finishes than adhesive backed discs.
