DESCRIPTION
To maintain excellent insulation over bus bar and splice connections, seal them with Scotch® rubber mastic tape 2228. Its tough mastic material provides thermal stability while sealing against moisture, and the ethylene propylene rubber backing adds additional electrical insulation. This versatile and weatherproof tape is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use and in any electrical application that requires improved insulation and moisture sealing.
Scotch® Rubber Mastic Tape 2228 is a 65-mil thick, premium grade, highly conformable self-fusing rubber electrical insulating and sealing tape. Scotch® Rubber Mastic Tape 2228 consisting of an ethylene propylene rubber (EPR) backing coated with an aggressive, temperature-stable mastic adhesive on a liner. Designed for electrical insulating and moisture sealing, intended for both indoor and weather exposed outdoor applications including resistance to UV exposure.
APPLICATIONS
For primary electrical insulation for cable and wire connections rated up to 1000 volts, padding for irregular shaped bus bar bolted connections and jacket seal on power cable applications
