SILVER-TUNGSTEN ELKANITES - RS SERIES                  

 

 The Elkanite RS silver-tungsten series offers a range of materials which combines the arc resistance of tungsten with the excellent thermal and electrical conductivities of silver.

As there is no alloying between the two metals, the properties tend to vary in direct proportion o the composition. Therefore high silver content offers maximum conductivity and minimum contact resistance; high tungsten offers maximum resistance to welding.

The Elkanite RS series of silver-tungsten materials finds particular application in miniature circuit breakers.

Elkanite 20S, 35S and 50S are manufactured as discs, regular and irregular shaped patches or bars. Most sizes and shapes can be produced and they are usually supplied etched to facilitate brazing. If required, serrations may be incorporated on the back face suitable for resistance welding.
